Märjamaa Butchery was first established by 20 local farmers. Property with production building in Orgita village, Märjamaa Country was purchased using self-financing. Construction works on the slaughterhouse were started – original idea was to offer services to the members of the Company.

Estonian Organic Organization buys 51% shares from the original company founders and takes over control of the company. Organization members wish to add more value to the organic farmers and bring to the market meat products with organic quality labels. Märjamaa Butchery’s slaughterhouse and meat producing facilities were certified as organic.
Deboning and packing facilities are added using financing.
First organic beef and lamb meat with Estonian origin arrives to the market shelves. Foreign clients are found, Märjamaa Butchery started exporting to other EU countries.
Minced meat production facility added. First Estonian organic beef and lamb minced meat arrives to the market shelves.
Estonian Organic Organization sells all of their Märjamaa Butchery shares, Investment Company takes over control of the company.
Slaughterhouse and chilling facilities are partially renovated.
Märjamaa Butchery attends for the first time as an exhibitor at the organic food fair BioFach Nuremberg and Nordic organic Food Fair in Malmö.
